I spent this week conducting more user testing trials with a focus on the notification manager.
For these trials, I removed the visual portion of the scheduler function and had the users input their tasks for the day as well as what apps/profiles were associated with each task. This meant that the users notifications were automatically silenced/pushed depending on the time.
A problem I have run into with the notification manager is gmail notifications. The application is currently able to silence the Mail app notifications but it is unable to read the contents of the notification for keywords to verify whether it should be pushed/silenced. This was an issue three of the users mentioned to me after the trials had ended.
My next course of action is to develop a workaround for the Mail/Gmail application notifications as the two seem to require special permissions to interact with.
